Blaník Hill

Blaník

Legend says an army of knights led by St Wenceslas sleeps inside the hill and will ride out when the Czech lands are in their greatest need. A short climb through beech woods leads to a wooden lookout tower on the summit of Velký Blaník.

A walk up from the nearest car park – allow a couple of hours there and back, wear proper shoes and take water. The chapel or lookout tower at the top keeps its own, often seasonal, hours.
